FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

1.) Can my son or young man, I know, participate?

a.) Yes, all boys from K - 18 years of age are welcome, however, currently focused on 3rd grade and up as a Church Growth/Connect Group and as a Parent Mentoring there own children program. Preferably dad or a male figure is spending time with there son of even there friends. If you are over 18 you are welcome to look into becoming a leader.

However we have limited K-2nd as long as the Parent or sponsor is willing to assist and okay that there child may be exposed to some lessons at a 3rd grade and above level.

b.) This program is currently offered to members of the church and open to other local church members, however, we hope to open it to the more general public in the future.

c.) For a boy to progress through the program, a parent must sign off or a Certified Commander/Leader must sign off on the activities or tasks and events/lessons the young man completes. ***It is recommended to send this information to Outpost leaders as they can guide on advancements and keep a track record as well as provide certificates of completion.***

d.) Weekly meetings are not held through the church but, We have monthly 3 hour meetings!!! ALSO, We hope to do other things at other times, like: Camps, Feeding homeless or other community projects, fund raisers. Each parent or adult can mentor the boy as we provide all the information and resources and we will help with any questions.

2.) When and Where will we meet?

a.) How Often: Currently we will be meeting monthly, we encourage each parent/guardian to assist in teaching or mentoring, the rest of the month, as once a month is not enough to cover everything.

b.) Location: Currently we will be meeting out of Leadership's Home, or a neutral location like a Park, Firing Range, or even a private camp. Eventually we hope to meet more often at various location when available.

c.) Time: . We currently meet on Saturday 2:00 - 5:00 and we attempt to utilize daylight as much as possible as many activities and lessons will be found outdoors.

Do not be intimidated, or feel left out, if you can't meet at the location or the time. Your boys will have access to all resources through this site and have the option and chance to catch up. Let them come when they can, and when they can't they can rejoin when they can. We fully understand there are sports and hunting seasons and encourage spend time with dad and family.

We aim to not take away from any of the other church ministries, but to add to and give advance training and leadership opportunities to your men and , boys. We aim to do our best to not have schedule conflicts.

3.) Can I become a Leader?

a.) Yes, First click the Members- Login at the top menu and register an account with your email and set up a password or you can sign up using facebook and other options.

b.) Second, be a member of The Assembly Church or at least be attending regularly.

c.) Third, you will want to reach out to Daniel Hibbets - danielhibbets@yahoo.com or Paul Cox at the church or either through Facebook to get your website credentials set up. As well as reach out if you have questions.

d.) Fourth, you will need a background check.

e.) You will want to have an Orientation Session unless you are just going to be an involved parent. (Contact Daniel Hibbets or Paul Cox for more.)

f.) Finally, if you are going to become a very involved/dedicated leader and not part time leader, or sometime involved leader, you will want to get involved in the online and in person training and that information can also be provided to you in the training forum, when given access, or provided by Daniel Hibbets. Yearly Training Events are posted on this site and on the Facebook page.

4.) What does this cost?

a.) Currently it cost your son or young man time, energy and potential need for material resources for a class or funds for food/drinks. Truly it's an investment. It can cost you 0$ or as much as maybe $400 a year depending on what all you go do and including State/National Events fees, park fees and such.

b.) Most cost that are associated with the program are when you go to Local, State, or National Events. These are completely based on the parents choice to allow the young man to be involved.

c.) Another Cost that might be associated with the program is materials you may want or need, to

teach your young man at home, OR if you want to purchase his uniform, awards or personal books. (Many resources are provided though the site.) These can be found through the online store and at https://myhealthychurch.com/store/index.cfm. Personal books run bout $13-$14 per book. Uniform Shirt run about $35. Some patches run around $1 - $4. An Outpost T-Shirt may be $10-$25. Beyond that, you buy your own materials and keep them: Tents, compass, sleeping bag, gloves so on. This is all totally up to the parents. We do ask at least to have an Outpost T-Shirt.

d.) The Outpost is begining to have Church sponsored meetings, we will collect offerings ,and consider maybe in the future, dues to help fund some of these things for the boys. Dues often times run $0.50-$1.00 per meeting. We also like to give to BGMC, Speed the Light and other Mission and Community Projects.

e.) The Outpost will likely engage in fund raisers, donations, sponsorships, and scholarship type of activity to help negate cost on parents.

f.) Leadership Training does cost if you begin to work through the Leadership Track. Online training courses found at: https://nationalroyalrangers.eleapcourses.com/

$10 for Ranger Safety(online for all of it),
$20-$45 depending on the course selection. for Ranger Foundations (online).
Estimated $20 - $40 for Ranger Essentials (In Person day training)
CPR and First Aid training, varies depending on company.
Then we have National Training Events (Link)
The NEEC (National Elementary Education Camp) or NRMC (National Rangers Ministry Camp) roughly $180-$240 per course, but one is only required for advancement in training - (In Person Weekend training event, provide food and room).
Finally we have the WCO (World Class Outpost) training (In Person Weekend training, required to get a hotel.) which is $50-$75+Hotel costs . ***These are the main courses but not all are required or needed to be a Leader.***
There are also continues learning opportunities like: Chaplin Training, Outpost Committee Training, and Outpost Coordinator, or Working With Boys With Disabilities. (All offered online) Then there are sometimes additional Training camps offered through the year at different locations or even National Training.

5.) What do I do next?

a.) Ensure you have register an account to this private website (Log In) "Members -Login"

b.) Reach out to a Leader with any questions or concerns.

c.)Receive a Parent Tag and then get access to the Parent Corner Forum - there you will find an introduction video and all the Parent packet/documents you need and a wealth of information to get your young man involved.

d.) Receive a Parent Packet (document/booklet) for your young man joining.

e.) From the Parent Packet , Return to leadership the medical form ,merit survey, time survey, and photo release form.

f.) Bring your boy to the meetings and Have FUN!

6.) My young man has joined Royal Rangers now what?

A.) Ensure the above instructions are done - "What do I do next?"

B.) Second notify leadership that you have joined and give them your website account information (email, name, phone number and your young man's information to ensure you get proper access.

C.) Go to the Forums and review your Young Man's Age group: Ranger Kids, Discovery Rangers, Adventure Rangers, Expedition Rangers. Material for your young man will be there.

D.) Go to the Store and you can order the Proper Age Group book or E-book. You may find some information in the Age appropriate Forum.

E.) Find your Year 1 Rank 1 documents and print them out or Skill/Bible/Leadership Documents of interest and print them out and begin learning.

F.) Keep an eye on Events from Facebook, Group Me or this Website under "Annoucements"

G.) Contact a Leader with any questions.
